Sherry was born and raised in Evansville and graduated from the University of Evansville with a degree in Business Education. Before making her way to Franklin Animal Clinic, Sherry had many other paths. Her professional life began with teaching shorthand and typing at the high school level, she then decided to stay home for several years to raise her two sons and daughters. Later, Sherry returned to work as a teacher’s aide working with Special Education students, followed by three years working with pregnant teens in alternative schools in Evansville. While living in the Chicago area, she worked with Behavior Disorder teens. Sherry worked her way to Florida where she was an office manager for an assisted living facility and it was here that she began using her dogs in pet therapy. Sherry and her dogs also made visits to an Alzheimer’s unit and one of the local hospitals.
While living in south Texas, Sherry was owner and operator of Paws & Claws Pet Resort. She then returned to Florida several years later, where she managed a boarding kennel in Vero Beach. Sherry finally made it to FAC in 2008 where she now works in the Phone Center and is always a familiar voice to pet owners.
Sherry has a Havanese, Jazzy, and a Shih Tzu, Gizmo. She also has four granddogs and a grandkitty. Sherry now looks forward to visits from a beautiful granddaughter who lives in New York. She loves to spend time with her family and enjoys reading in her spare time.
