Fractures: Our surgeons can repair limb fractures with bone pins and bone plates.
Femoral Head Osteotomy
Knee Surgeries: ACL & CCL ligament ruptures can be a common injury in dogs. Sometimes even in cats! Our surgeons are able to perform two different types of surgeries to repair the ligament rupture.
1) Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA): This surgery is ideal for any patients weighing more than 35lb. A TTA consists of a bone incision where a stainless steel cage and plate are placed to redistribute the placement of the tibial crest. By redistributing the tibial crest it enables the patient to no longer need the ruptured ligament since it changes the way weight is distributed across the knee. Total healing time takes a minimum of 8 weeks and proper rehabilitation and restrictions are required to allow for proper healing.
2) Lateral Retinacular Suture: This surgery ideal for patients weighing less than 35lb. The surgery consists of placing a strong nylon band in the same orientation as the CCL. This band then acts as the ligament and creates the support needed in the knee joint.
