Dr. Andrew P. Mills has been associated with Franklin Animal Clinic since 1992. Dr. Mills started as a kennel attendant when he was a junior in high school. After a short period with the clinic, he realized this profession was his true passion in life. Dr. Mills went on to attend Franklin College, Ross University, and Purdue University to earn his doctor of veterinary medicine degree. He returned to the clinic in 2002 as an associate veterinarian and became a partner/owner in 2005. In 2008, Dr. Mills designed, planned and oversaw the building of our new facility.
Dr. Mills is a member of the AVMA, IVMA and is Penn Hip Certified. He performs OFA Echocardiograms, certified to do TTA (cruciate repairs) and is always looking for the next best thing to help animals and the profession. Dr. Mills enjoys all aspects of the profession. “I love people, the animals, and the medicine….Everyday is something new and an opportunity to help an animal.” He has taken a special interest and advanced training in orthopedic surgeries, ultrasonography of the heart (echocardiograms), and chemotherapy. The more complicated the better for Dr. Mills. He enjoys working through the cases and forming relationships with clients.
In his spare time, Dr. Mills enjoys spending time with his family. He is the proud father of 5 children – his older is a girl and the rest are boys! His house is graced with the presence of 8 cats, 4 dogs, and a lizard. Dr. Mills and his wife, Tiffany, enjoy spending time outside at his country home with the kids playing. They also enjoy date nights, which usually include Italian or Mexican food followed by a movie. Other interests of his include classic cars, running, gardening and outdoor sports. He attends Mecum Auction each year in Indianapolis and would love to attend the Barret Jackson Auction in Arizona. Dr. Mills is a beach bum at heart and loves tropical vacations. His newest interest is touring the castles of Europe.
